The 4th Annual
Cairo Magnolia Celebration
May 3, 2025
LET’S HELP CHANGE THE NARRATIVE ABOUT CAIRO!
We are beyond excited about the 4th Annual Cairo Magnolia Celebration! Our goal this year is to provide a chance for as many people as possible (both inside and outside the area) to experience the richness of Cairo's historical treasures for themselves.
This year's celebration, held on Saturday, May 3, picks up on what we started in 2024: rather than a ticketed gathering as in years past, our focus will be on numerous self-guided open-house tours of a variety of historical buildings, churches, homes, and locations all over Cairo. Our Shawnee Mass Transit District friends will once again provide bus transportation for those who enjoy narrated guided tours beginning at 10:00 am.
The day will end mid-afternoon during a free refreshment reception at the Harold Jones Fine Arts Center (formerly the Khourie Brothers clothing store) on Commercial Avenue in the downtown historical district. Time will be provided for a question-and-answer session about the preservation vision and work of TCHPP, Inc.
While attendees will be given the opportunity to donate to our tax-deductible mission to preserve and protect Cairo's historical resources, this year's tour celebration will have NO ADMISSION CHARGE! That's right--it's free!
We will be announcing the schedule and locations that will be included soon. But mark your calendars NOW to participate in our 4th Annual Cairo Magnolia Celebration to show off our hometown--we can't wait to see you!
PS: If you own an historical Cairo commercial building or home, or are connected to any of our hometown historical churches, we’d love for you to be involved in this year’s open house tour! Contact us at support@historicalcairo.com for more information!
